The project, which Dominion has dubbed the “Solar and Energy Storage Virginia Portfolio”, would add 1,358 megawatts (MW) of new solar capacity and 546 MW of new energy storage to the company’s existing electric generation portfolio in Virginia.

Dominion says the project will help the company meet its goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 80 percent by 2050.

The project also includes a partnership with Microsoft to build a solar farm that would power the company’s data center in Virginia.

Microsoft has been a leader in corporate renewable energy procurement, and the company has committed to powering all of its operations with clean energy by 2025.

Dominion’s proposal is the latest in a series of solar and energy storage projects the company has announced in recent years.

In 2016, Dominion announced plans to build what was then the largest solar farm in Virginia.

The project never materialized, but Dominion has continued to add new solar capacity to its portfolio.

The company now has more than 1,000 MW of solar capacity in operation or under construction in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Dominion’s proposal is part of a larger trend in the utility industry of investing in renewable energy and storage.
